Frustrated, Burned Out and Worn Down
I started this blog for the many people who must be out there just like me. We are frustrated, burned out and worn down. Many of us are afraid to share our true feelings with others because it makes us feel gulity or we are afraid of how we may appear to others if they knew how we really feel about being the "sandwich generation". So many of us are putting up, shutting up and trudging forward with our lives. Have you noticed that many of us who are in our fifties and in this position are developing serious health problems? Sometimes I think we have more health problems than the parents we're caring for, you know, the ones who are going on and on and on and will seemingly live forever. Not that we don't love them, but I thought it would be "my turn" somewhere along the line before I hit my eighties!! When my mother was my age all of my grandparents were dead, my sister and I were both out of the house and on our own and my mother spent seventeen years doing exactly what she wanted to do. When is that going to happen for me? I hope I get to that point while I still have some energy and stamina left. This is one area of extending life expectancy that no one ever talks about--the effect it's having on the adult children. Share your feelings and thoughts. Use this website to freely vent your frustration and to share how you are coping with the stress.
